Chemical sample 113

Found underneath structure C1, an Early Classic funerary/ceremonial monument found among the main ruins at the site (Hall et al. 1990). This structure is identified as tomb 19 and this is where this and other vessels were recovered and tested chemically for cacao. This vessel has weak chemical indications for theobromine, yet the authors suggest it is likely this vessel also contained cacao (Hall et al. 1990:142).
